Construction Project Manager
Join the Express Restoration team — a fast-growing, family-oriented restoration & remodeling company serving Portland & Vancouver. We're looking for a driven Project Manager to lead residential projects from start to finish.
About the Role
As a Project Manager at Express Restoration LLC, you'll oversee residential restoration and remodeling projects from initial client consultation through final walkthrough. You'll be the primary point of contact for homeowners, subcontractors, and insurance adjusters — ensuring every project is delivered on time, on budget, and to our high-quality standards.
This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll manage multiple active job sites across the Portland & Vancouver metro area. We handle everything from emergency water/fire/storm restoration to premium kitchen and bathroom remodels — so no two days are the same.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage residential restoration & remodeling projects ($5K–$1M range) from scope through completion
- Conduct on-site consultations, create estimates, and develop detailed project timelines
- Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and in-house crews to ensure seamless execution
- Communicate daily with homeowners — provide updates, address concerns, maintain trust
- Navigate insurance claim processes — documentation, adjuster meetings, supplement negotiations
- Enforce quality control standards on every job site — safety, cleanliness, craftsmanship
- Manage project budgets and ensure profitability targets are met
- Conduct final walkthroughs with clients to ensure 100% satisfaction
- Support 24/7 emergency restoration response on a rotating schedule
What We're Looking For
Experience & Technical Knowledge
- 2+ years of experience in construction, restoration, or remodeling
- Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously
- Understanding of construction processes (demo, framing, drywall, finishing, etc.)
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, scopes, and estimates
- Knowledge of project scheduling and timelines
Organization & Management
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and crews
- Experience with budgeting, cost tracking, and job profitability
- Problem-solving mindset with the ability to handle unexpected issues on-site
- Ability to keep projects on schedule and within scope
Communication & Leadership
- Excellent communication skills (clients, team, insurance adjusters if applicable)
- Customer service mindset — comfortable dealing with homeowners during stressful situations
- Leadership ability to manage crews and hold people accountable
- Conflict resolution skills
